My LA single-family home has a garage right on the property line that’s not up to current code. Do I have to move it to add a State ADU on top, or does the ZA Memo let me keep it as is?
So, I've got this old garage sitting right on the property line of my single-family home in LA. It's definitely not up to the current code, but I'm thinking about adding an ADU on top. Do any of you know if the ZA Memo lets me keep the garage where it is, or do I have to move it first? I’ve heard mixed things and just want to make sure I’m doing it right without having to tear down the whole thing. Anyone dealt with something similar? Any help would be awesome! Thanks!
